The Corbin saddle was a more comfortable alternative to the stock seat for the FZ-1. It was wider and flatter, which helped distributed the weight outward to the hips and thighs. It was also very hard. This is better than sinking onto the seat pan, like on the stock seat, but the Russell was much softer yet just as supportive. Other niggles were wrinkles in the leather where it was glued to the foam, and scrappes on the bottom of the leather cover where it looked like it had been dragged on a workbench. The scrapes did not show when mounted on the bike, but may have accelrated the stress and tear process and I didn't like them.
Also the Corbin rider pocket was a couple inches further back than the equivalent step on the stock seat. This is good if you are tall and need more room on the bike. It also makes the reach to the bars longer and lowers you further behind the screen and closer to the gas tank. Some folks like this, I didn't.
